Paula Harris RHIP Coordinator

My name is Paula and I have been an Employment Counsellor and Project Coordinator at REES for over 15 years. With previous experience working with people with disabilities, I understand the concerns and accommodation needs of our participants.

Having raised several children with physical disabilities and health conditions, as well as having my own disability, has given me a perspective on some of the most challenging aspects of navigating the world of disability supports and services.  Helping our participants find the right job that matches their unique skills and abilities has always been a rewarding part of my position as REES Hiring Incentive Project Coordinator.  Meeting new people, whether a participant, an employer or another service provider, continues to widen my perspective on the many resources yet to be tapped in this wonderful city we call Winnipeg!

My other community experiences include: past acting executive director of a women’s resource centre, co-chair of a local non-profit organization, women’s reproductive health counsellor at a local clinic and original co-founder of the Women’s Health Clinic here in Winnipeg.  In my earlier years at REES, I also wrote an original handbook for employers hiring people with disabilities, entitled: “Open for Business”.
A mother of 7 adult children and grandmother to one, I also find time for my rescued felines.
